RECEIVES GREEN AWARD
The National Association of Trailer Manufacturers (NATM) held their 25th annual convention on February 19 – 22, 2013 in Charleston, SC.Car Mate Trailers, Inc. of Leeper was the 2013 recipient of the NATM Green Award sponsored by PPG.The NATM Green Manufacturing Award is presented to an NATM manufacturing member annually to recognize the best innovation and novel solutions by a manufacturer in the industry that positively impact our environment.Car Mate Trailers, Inc. is a recognized leader in the trailer industry with a conscious concern for the environment.
Examples of their “green” efforts include: Installation of an environmentally friendly 100 percent recycling pretreatment paint wash system, replaced 100 percent of their lighting and fixtures to the more efficient T-5 and T-8 florescent fixtures; replaced or installed building heaters to an almost 100 percent efficient radiant type heating system; recycling or repurposing all aluminum, steel, wood and cardboard byproducts; replaced the standard 12 volt trailer lighting to 100 percent LED lighting.Car Mate has contractedPennStateUniversity to survey all building heat losses with thermal imaging cameras.This documentation and analysis shows necessary areas of improvement and steps have been taken to eliminate these minor troublesome spots.The company has installed energy efficient compressors and timers on their exhaust equipment to reduce the electric usage.

The National Association of Trailer Manufacturers (NATM) presentedGreg Snyder, President & CEO of Car Mate Trailers, Inc. in Leeper, PA with the NATM Outstanding Member Award Thursday, February, 21, 2013 at the Awards Luncheon during the 25th annual NATM Convention and Trade Show in Charleston, SC.The Outstanding Member Award is presented each year to an individual who has made significant contributions to the trailer manufacturing industry.
Mr. Snyder has been an active member of NATM and an advocate for the trailer industry.He was first elected to the board of directors in 2005 and has served on numerous committees including compliance, membership, convention, trailer dealers, bylaws, marketing and nominations, chairing membership, trailer dealers and bylaws committees.This year, Snyder was elected as Vice-President of the NATM Board of Directors.
Snyder, a navy veteran, has worked in the trailer industry for 23 years.Car Mate Trailers was founded by his uncle, Jim Pfendler, in 1982.He began in the maintenance department and moved on to purchasing.Snyder currently continues his purchasing duties along with his responsibilities as president and CEO.Greg and his wife, Deb, reside in Venus, PA and have two children, Christine and Robert.

Electrolysis Knowledge
Car Mate Trailers, Inc. has taken expensive and extreme measures to protect your trailer unit from electrolysis. A full, two coat paint and primer on all steel parts along with self sealing, elastic, weather protective tapes (tar tape) have nearly eliminated all chemical reactions between the dissimilar metals of steel and aluminum. It is virtually impossible to prevent all corrosion between these two metals. Some of the highly corrosive, electrolytic properties within road maintenance products saturate nearly everything. If driving in these conditions, great care should be taken on the operator's part to wash these chemicals away.

Fred Ochs and Michelle Clark of Car Mate Trailers are presented a flag from their nephew SPC Joshua A. Ochs that was flown over the country of Afghanistan aboard the AH-64D Apache Longbow Attack Helicopter #03-05298 on a mission in support of coalition forces in Operation Enduring Freedom fighting against the enemies of the United States of America. Joshua has served one tour in Afghanistan in "Havoc" Company, 1st Battalion, 10th Aviation Brigade, 10th Mountain Division. His brother SPC Daniel Ochs, Jr. has served two tours in Afghanistan and another brother SGT Anthony Ochs has served two tours in Iraq and one tour in Afghanistan
